Ewan Mitchell (b. 1992; Edinburgh) is a European artist based in Rotterdam, who graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2016. His work encompasses a diverse range of mediums and is currently focused on the creation of installations, which utilise video-, image-, and sound-based works to explore universal power structures and the intersection of historic and contemporary political narratives. Working within both a documentary and fictional context, his practice usually involves reinterpreting archive material to investigate the relationship between conflict, colonialism, and propaganda.

In 2017 he took part in the RSA New Contemporaries at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh. In 2018, he completed a commission for the Glasgow International Festival, which culminated in an exhibition in the CCA. He also screened a new film at the EYE Film Institute in Amsterdam.
